Indeed, Laganas is the most cosmopolitan resort in Zakynthos. The perfect choice for those who love intense nightlife! The wonderful, sandy beach of Laganas is the largest on the island (9 km total length) and the shallow, clean waters make it ideal for children.

The beach is also famous as a reproduction site for the Caretta-caretta sea turtles. The female sea turtles lay their eggs during the summer, and the eggs hatch eight weeks later.

Laganas Bay is under the supervision and protection of the Greek National Marine Park.
No jet-skis or power-boats are allowed, also the beach is off-limits after sunset.

However, one can watch the sea turtles swim around from one of the glass-bottom boats touring the area.

There are regular cruises to other beaches, departing from Laganas.
